As they are made from Stainless Steel, this piece is of very high quality and will be waterproof and resistant to rusting and discolouration. However, please note that over long periods of time, minimal signs of gradual wear and tear will appear due to the effects of moisture, oil and sweat from your skin - as well as oxidation from the air.
